Description:
I love this song! The melodies are pretty neat and it has a little of everything. With that being said, I think there is a lot that could be improved, especially with masterings and whatnot. This song was started back in April and I'm now putting this on my website in October. I thought I might make some more changes, but I think it's just going to have to stay how it is for now. Oh well, it's as good as it's going to be.

Missing Green, But Mostly the Scene

Description
So I've been living in this tiny mountain town called Los Alamos in Northern New Mexico for 9 weeks now and I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of the town by now. After the success of 'Dunk Away' last year I decided it was about time to make another rap. I've had plenty of great experiences here, but also quite a few WTF moments. I think this is an accurate portrayal of Los Alamos and all it has to offer. I should probably add that during the recording process, my landlords were in the room right next to me. It kind of made it awkward when I was both talking about them and just staight up swearing over and over trying to get a good take. Enjoy!
Lyrics:
I represent the west but when I started heading east,
It didn't take me long to surrender in the heat.
A tactical retreat, To defend me from defeat
Show the coast how these motha fuckas love their chiles green.

I be hailing from LA, no not California!
Way up in the jamez thunder storms like every single day.
When the police come around thinking they own the town
We just turn our speakers up let the bass shake the ground.

The kids here run wild with the hunger to learn,
But when I dropped this fat beat all types of heads start to turn.
I've met intellectuals who eat nothing but vegetables,
Can't keep up with the best of us, testing us, still no impressing us.

It's hard to disagree when they're packing PhDs
You may be a fucking genius but retarded socially.
I'd be lying if I said I gave a shit, you laboratory bitch.
How about you calculate the time it takes to suck a dick.

When I need a breakfast snack,
Chileworks has got my back.
When you're craving a burrito,
It's a good time to live in Los Alamos.

When you're bored on a Friday night,
And you don't have a car you just ride a bike
You ain't gettin' no love from no hoes,
It's a bad time to live in Los Alamos.

If I told a joke about science or math
At home everyone would hesitate to laugh,
But here everybody would know
Cause we be living in Los Alamos.

I may have chosen the wrong place to be,
So many old people livin' in this community,
It would appear somethings wrong with this ratio,
But that's the way it is in Los Alamos.

Originally I'm from the 503.
It's hard to stay alive in the 505
Cause on AT&T I be getting no 3G
And the bitches be texting me constantly.

It's insane how Christmas lasts all year long
Cause together red and green chiles are the bomb.
It's not hard to eat too many it's a slippery slope,
But god damn New Mexican food is seriously dope.

When you're driving down the street your quite likely to get hit
Cause new Mexico drivers really don't give a shit.
And construction is so bad when the workers complain.
'It's been raining far too much,' that's what they always say.

My residency used to be completely free,
Then two uhaul trucks pulled up, I was like man what the fuck?
My landlord is on the border of being called a hoarder
So much shit in this house no use trying to restore order.

If you like camping and sleeping in tents
Your recreational life would be content,
But if you think the outdoors blows
It's a bad time to live in Los Alamos.

We go to hot rocks three times a day
Where socks with sandals isn't considered gay,
But if you need shoes or fancy clothes
It's a bad time to live in Los Alamos.

In this small town the bad outweighs the good,
But at least it is generally understood
That at anytime you are free to go
And get the hell away from Los Alamos.

I know this song makes it sound like I had a bad time
I've met some really cool people and now we're friends online.
Will I ever come back? Maybe I suppose
And that's how I've spent my time in Los alamos.

Description
I actually made most of the beginning of this a couple years ago, but never got around to finishing it. After my new dubstep influences I wanted to add some triplets to spice things up. I've also wanted to make a rap lately so... Yeah... Vocoder always seems to make an appearance ;)
Lyrics:
Hot as hell, all day long, I'll bet that I'll sweat by the end of this song.
Cause there's no relief and I can't find shade,
but my flow's more explosive than a hand grenade.

Watch me detonate the block give you something to see.
Take a seat, relax, and watch the sky bleed.
Radiation makin' populations want to agree,
you'll be wishin' you had time for an apologee!

But between you and me I've had enough.
I'm done with the game I've been lost in the fame.
Sick of the lies, sick of the pain,
sick of holding on to the thought that I might be insane.

Better check the forecast cause I'm making it rain.
Not a cloud in sight, I think I just might,
take you back, to the time, what went wrong, such a crime
Let me better explain what's been going on in my mind.

As time stands still I watch as the earth collides,
wondering if the planet is dead or alive.
It may sound cruel to toy with their lives,
in the end everybody's bound to die.

Description
I really enjoyed making this song mostly because I haven't had a chance to make much music lately. This is different from most of my other songs in the respect that I would work on chunks of it at a time so each section is a little different from the previous. This was also my first real success with vocoder so it's fair to say I had a lot of fun making this one.
Lyrics:
When I look into your eyes
It's hard to say what I feel inside.
Your hands are warm but it's cold outside.
I guess it's time to say goodbye.

Description:
This is probably the best song I've ever made... I was going to make the standard guitar/keyboard song with Dylan, but he had to go to Hawaii and left me all alone with my computer...
Lyrics:
Well I'm looking at the sky, I got something in my eye it's true.
When I look up really high it's hard to say goodbye to you.
And I've got a lot to learn and the bridges start to burn alright.
I keep running from my past it's caught up with me at last tonight.

This needle in my skin.
Fire burning deep within.
Now I've seen the light, wish it wasn't so bright.
How did this all begin?

I was sitting on the couch with an empty white pouch beside me.
Seems like every hit I take is another step away from you.
Anything I believe is too hard to conceive so far.
This life is too hard, why don't I take it all away?

Description:
Infected Inspiration was my first electronic song made with Acid Pro. I was just getting more into electronic music and had finally found a program that allowed me to produce the sounds I was looking for. It was difficult to make songs without a MIDI keyboard considering I had to add all the notes by hand. This may sound frustrating, but when compared to writing out every single note as I had in Finale, this was a cake walk.

Description:
There are probably some copyright infringements here, so I'll just go out and say I obviously didn't make either of the two songs I mashed. They were just too similar to not do something with. I just put both tracks on top of each other and let them do the rest.

Description:
More copyright infringements... This was the first mash I ever did and it only took me a few hours. This was during my Acid Pro days where I relied heavily on loops. I didn't have the acapella version of Ms. New Booty, so there's a lot of excess background noise. Oh well, I like this one ;)

Description:
More copyright infringements... Back in the BAG Mix days we listened to both these songs quite. As with any mash-up, they sounded so similar that I just had to combine them. Again, not a whole lot of editing went into this. The lyrics from Usher's - Love in this Club were sped up and transposed a step or two while I was able to snag an instrumental version of Live your Life. Good stuff.

Description:
This was made a long time ago during my Finale days. Oh man, Finale was not the right program to do what I wanted musically. I had to input each individual note and make sure that every 4/4 bar was satisfied. Anyway, I really want to use this melody in the future because I believe it has potential for a full length song. One day...

The origins of this little number began in music theory during junior year. That class was horrible, but at least I had some homies to keep me company. Shout outs to Ben Wilson, Joseph Campos-Furber, and Kevin Carroll. I think the first two measures got cut off a long time ago...

Description:
This song was actually an assignment for music theory during Junior year. I was pissed because I ended up getting a B on it because when I wrote out the master score in Finale I didn't put the bass line at the bottom. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that I didn't start until the day before it was due. Regardless, the name doesn't actually mean anything as with most of my titles and the violin part is apparently written too high. Don't get me wrong, it was actually pretty fun to make. Oh and I almost forgot, it most definitely ends on a Picardy Third!

Again this isn't really a full song, but the amount of effort put into adding each note made it feel like a full song. Description:
This was the first song I recorded using Adobe Audition. I was pretty darn proud of it at the time and loved to play and sing it when ever I got a chance. During this time was my first real exposure to popular music so right after I finished making the chord progression I realized that it really wasn't too original. That didn't matter to me because the lyrics are silly and the song itself really makes me happy. Joseph Campos-Furber was the sole creator of the bass line, which I didn't feel like adding to my recording. Actually, I first made a MIDI version of the song without lyrics and the bass line definitely made an appearance. Good times.
Lyrics:
I'm gonna run away and I can't look back.
Don't try to talk to me until I get my life on track.
I wanna run where the buffalo roam, calling it home.
Can't you see this just ain't the life for me.

I'm still a boy, living at home.
Broke as a dog all I do is talk on the phone.
I think to myself and I start to cry.
I'm sick of this hurt and I'm sick of your lies.

Day in and day out I'm faithful to you.
Passion surrounds us through and through.
I'm trying to stop, pretending to be.
This illusion can you set me free?

I can't help but feel trapped inside.
Deal with confrontation? I'd rather hide.
Relieving my stress with a slip and slide.
My only two options are to live or die.

The tearing sensation upon my heart.
When I'm left alone or when you're far apart.
My soul is weak, but you've taught me well.
I feel the fire burning so I know I'd better...

Description:
Oh jeez. I really debated putting this song up here. It's a men's choral arrangement where I decided to do all the parts myself for fun. At the time I kinda thought I was the shit in choir until I recorded this song and realized how I can't do the bass part and the solo was pretty mediocre. I tried to hide them with lots of effects, but it didn't really work out too well. Oh well, I still had fun making it.
Lyrics:
There used to be a graying tower alone on the sea
You became the light on the dark side of me
Love remained a drug that's the high and not the pill
But did you know That when it snows
My eyes become large and The light that you shine can be seen

Baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grave
Ooh, the more I get of you, stranger it feels, yeah
Now that your rose is in bloom
A light hits the gloom on the gray

There is so much a man can tell you
So much he can say
You remain my power, my pleasure, my pain
Baby, to me you're like a growing addiction that I can't deny
Won't you tell me is that healthy, baby?
But did you know that when it snows
My eyes become large and the light that you shine can be seen

Dunk Away

Description:
This was my first exploration into the rap game. After hearing some stuff by Eddy P and his Grinder Cats I became slightly inspired. Of course, most rappers talk about violence and illegal activities, which don't really tickle my fancy. Since I was folding boxes for a job the entire summer I had a lot of free time at work so I started making some lyrics. The song was supposed to be innocent and all about my love for cookies until Dylan latched onto the idea and forced me to give him his very own verse. After that, everything spiraled out of control into what I now know as the song, "Dunk Away."
Lyrics:
So I'm coming home from work and I'm looking for a treat
when I see these fly bitches walking up and down the street.
So I pull over the car and yell, "what's going on?"
Is that GZ over there? Man I love your new song!
I say yeah my beats are tight and my rhymes are the shit
I'd love to stay and chat a little, but my stomach's grumblin'
I don't got time to waste, what's those digits on your phone?
Party at my house tonight, don't forget my new ringtone.
So I pull up to my house and I open the door
and I see these two bitches getting down on the floor.
I'm hungry so I prioritize, gotta get me some chips or some pie
when the perfect combo appears right before my eyes.
I can't wait any longer I just gotta take a bite.
Doesn't even matter if the guests start to arrive.
Got a cookie in my left and some milk in my right,
I'm gonna dunk this motha fucka so we can begin the night.

Love it when you dunk and dip
You know I gotta have my chocolate chip
Oatmeal raisen is my shit
and peanut butter cookies are delicious.
Snickerdoodles are so nice.
How would I live without ginger spice?
You say you'd make me cookies you've just gotta name your price.
At this point I'm thinkin' even shortbread would suffice.

Now I'm staring at my combo, the anticipation grows.
Also thinkin' bout my party and the skanky ass hoes.
They be lovin' all my music but sometimes I need a break
That's when I pull out the milk and cookie combo to escape.
The mood is finally set and my mouth starts to advance
and I start to get excited, while my tastebuds start to dance.
I can't control the flavors and I've got crumbs on my face
Just then the doorbell starts to echo with a supersonic bass.
As I finish up my goodies and walk over to the door
I completely forget about the bitches on the floor.
Who could it be? It's hard to see with the lights so dim.
Hey! it's my boy D-chron and he's got bitches with him.
He's got a smile on his face cause he knows what's been down
but we haven't even started tearing up this cookie town.
Don't get me wrong he loves the cookies but he loves bitches more
D-chron show these motha fuckas how you don't need metaphors.

These haters over here ain't got shit on me.
All I need are hoes and a big bag of weed.
I'm the kind of hater that don't play around
and I kill motha fuckas without makin' a sound.
Just killed a man and I went to jail,
then I broke out and got a sack of dope to sell.
I got a fat dick that shoots like a gun
and I rob liquor stores cause I'm looking for fun.
I got a 40 of Mickeys and an herbal treat
and GZ's cookies are lookin' pretty sweet.
His cookies are the shit just come and see
like the pussy from a ho who said, "Just fuck me!"
Now that the cookies are out of the oven,
I'll fuck another bitch with some real good lovin'.
I'll nut on her face with a milky white gleam
and give her a taste of my cookies and cream.

Description:
Oh no! I found out about auto-tune! Now there's no going back. Yes, this was my first experiment using the infamous auto-tune and yes it was definitely out of place. As with most of my songs I don't really care what people think because they make me happy. This was made during the winter where we had like three feet of snow on the ground. Unheard of for our tiny town of Tualatin, but certainly exciting for all us returning college kids!
Lyrics:
I've felt alone these past few days
Look outside the skies are all just dark and gray.
The chill brought by the wind last night doesn't seem to leave
and lack of conversation leaves me begging on my knees.
Oh please, oh please.

As the Earth begins to freeze,
I sit here waiting for a beautiful summer breeze.
All paths leading towards guaranteed uncertainty.
Will tomorrow be the end for me?
Or will I carry on in infamy?

Sit or stand no need to run.
I feel the raging storm has only just begun.
My body aches, but I push the pain aside.
You've shown me that it's better off to stay alive.
I'll try, I'll try.

This was the first and only video Dylan and I have made for one of our songs. It stars Eric Dauenhaeur as a homeless guy and was filmed by Chriss Goschie. After complaining about how long I thought it would take to edit the movie, it ended up only being like half an hour... HERE IT IS!
Description:
So... Dylan I probably spent more time recording and editing (well I do all the editing :P) this song more than any of our others. It is cool to have two vocal parts, guitar, and piano, but it still is probably our least favorite. When we showed the song to Eric and proposed making a video his first response was something to the effect of, "Damn, that's a long song." We didn't really think about it at the time, but yeah, it's a bit long. I recommend watching the video because it has nothing to do with the song and I think it's pretty funny.
Lyrics:
Twice in a lifetime and I hope it's the last.
Looked to the stars, hasn't worked in the past.
Seen where this goes and there's no place for me.
Can't wait my whole life for your apology.

One day you'll find me through an ocean of lies.
We'll carry on drifting on to the skies.
Until then I will float all by my own.
Waiting for the day when I can bring you home.

When judgement day comes will there be forgiveness?
No matter the sums, no matter the consequences.
Looked in the mirror, I don't like what I see.
Feel the strife for anguish among all the ecstacy.

Description:
This is like totally the opposite of "Bring You Home." It took us next to no time recording and editing this song and it's definitely one of favorites, if not our favorite. One day Dylan decided to buy a ukulele for some reason. While he was playing it over at his house it made me think of pineapples and the wacky adventures that come from them. Well, maybe not wacky, more like everything I could think of when describing a pineapple. I'm not sure why, but I tried to do an islander accent, which I think made the song even better. You be the judge!
Lyrics:
Oh pineapple up in that tree,
I look at you and you're looking straight back at me.
Now all day I sit down by the hot beach,
I'm thinking of your juicy innards that I want to eat.

If I could I'd take a tiny bite,
but you're outer shell has way too many spikes.
So I think I'll cut you up in a bowl.
That sweet aroma, sweet aroma soothes the soul.

But soon I'll stop and I will take a little break.
Your sour juice continues to make my mouth ache.
So I left you out while I went and sang.
You started turning brown and developed a distinctive tang.

Some people say the coconut is best,
until I offer them a little pineapple express.
Now I sit all day with my bowl and my fruit
as my mind drifts away and starts to delude.

Spring Break

Description:
"Spring Break," was the first song Dylan and I recorded. I think we accidentally recorded it in stereo, but only used one microphone, so the sound might be a little off. Anywho, Dylan had been learning the guitar so we thought we'd try out our song making ability! We wrote this song obviously during spring break during our freshman year of college. It reflects the fact that not a whole lot of people were around except Dylan and me. We started actually writing the lyrics after doing a few improv runs, one of which I still have on my computer. Great song and I like the fact that it includes some of our high school friends! Dylan also played the harmonica against my will.
Lyrics:
It's spring break and there's no where to go,
so we chill with our friends from the west coast.
Sit and watch as the days go by,
there's no one around so we realized.

Some of us are here to stay,
but all the rest are going away.

There is Mitchell and his boyfriend Thomas
then you got Dylan and me
and of course Chriss Goschie.
Seth has a girlfriend,
that may be hard to believe.
And we really, really miss Tauna and Tracey.

Only a few days still remain,
so we spend our final moments hiding from the pain.
Friends are all that we demand,
but we part our seperate ways and we understand.

There's no end for this heartbreak
cause splitting up was the biggest mistake
We'll come together when the time is right,
but until then you've all been my guiding light.

Description:
This is probably the most "professional" remix that I've done. It all started with my love for Ke$ha and her filthy pop music. The song "Blow" spoke out to me especially for one reason or another and I decided that her voice would serve well for a remix. I had actually been working on the melody for this song way back during Christmas break and initially had no intentions of adding lyrics. I finally noticed that the vocal track would go well with the melody and now I've made a funy rendition of Ke$ha's "Blow." Enjoy.

Description:
After my first attempt at mash-ups and remixes with the "Beautiful" and "Ms. New Booty" mash I realized it would be a lot easier to do a remix that didn't have any vocals. The Office theme song was a popular short song at the time so I thought I'd give a remix a shot. My favorite effect at the time was speeding up the track, which is quite obvious in numerous sections of the piece. I made this using Acid Pro so I was still pretty big into unedited drum loops that I downloaded in packages.

What a great song. I had just finished my office theme song remix and was looking to sink my teeth into another project I didn't create. Soon after Eric wrote a song about the ridiculous temperatures we'd been having. I forget if I asked for his permission to do the remix, but let's hope that I did. Regardless, this webpage wouldn't even have been created if it wasn't for Eric and his inspiring CSS coding and wonderful songs. I'd like to think of this song as a tribute to a good friend.
Lyrics:
The sun by any other name,
Would still be uncomfortable
To me on days like this.
100 degrees; It's way too hot.
It's really hot outside.

I can't believe how hot it is.
I can't believe how hot it is.
I can't believe how hot it is outside today

Even 80 degrees is really hot but it'd still be an improvement.
I was sitting in my car. I was really hot. I was really hot.
Yeah.
I've run out of words. I don't know how many more times I can say it's hot.
It's really really hot.
Yeah.
